New flight to Outer Banks coming in June

Budget airline Allegiant plans to add a new flight from Cincinnati to the Outer Banks.

Allegiant will start service to from Cincinnati to Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks via Norfolk International Airport beginning June 7.

One-way fares start at $49.

This new seasonal service will operate twice weekly. With the addition of this new route, Allegiant will now serve 20 cities from Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport.

“Thanks to the support of the Tri-State region, Allegiant continues to expand their network and we are excited to support their continued growth as they get ready to celebrate five years of service at CVG,” Candace McGraw, chief executive of CVG Airport, said in a statement.

The Dayton Daily News previously reported on Las Vegas-based Allegiant's growth in the area, both out of Dayton and Cincinnati.

The budget airline is among no-frills carriers that have been rapidly attracting customers in recent years.
