The Montgomery County Transportation Improvement District is planning road improvements near U.S. 40 and the Interstates 70/75 interchange, near the Dayton International Airport, and district officials want your input.

The “I/70/75 airport logistics access project” will widen part of U.S. 40 (National Road) from just west of Union Airpark Boulevard to the Airport Access Road, as well as make improvements to the intersection of U.S. 40 and Airport Access Road.

The idea is to make it easier to get to the airport “over the next several decades,” the district said in a new fact sheet.

The project will add a “continuous five-lane section of road with two through lanes in each direction and a center left turn lane,” the district said. “The five-lane section will extend from the Terminal Drive interchange west to Union Airpark Boulevard. From Airpark Boulevard , the roadway will be tapered back to two wants to the west.”

A public information meeting on the plans is set for 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Dayton International Airport terminal. Free parking will be provided in the garage, and the meeting will be held in an “open house” format, the district said in an announcement.
