Austin Landing’s ‘premium’ 12-screen theater opening pushed back to fall

A $12 million multiplex being built at Austin Landing will be a “premium” cinema and a Dallas-based company’s first Midwest location.

The opening of Cinépolis USA’s 12-screen theater, which had been expected for this summer, is now projected for a fall opening at the Miami Twp. mixed use complex, according to a public relations firm for the company.

Cinépolis Dayton, which will seat 1,560, will be a middle-tier site for the company, which has luxury, premium and traditional theaters in California, Connecticut, Florida, New Jersey and New York.

Austin Landing’s developer announced the cinema in June 2015, and it was initially projected to open in the fall of 2016. However, construction delays pushed the project back.
