Directed by Richard Lowenstein, who was also behind many of the band's early videos, "Mystify: Michael Hutchence" focuses on the life and career of Hutchence and is set to premiere at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival next month. "Mystify" was the name of INXS' fifth and final single from their wildly successful 1987 album "Kick."
"Their legacy is growing every day, and a new generation of fans from around the world are discovering INXS through streaming," Chris Murphy, of Petrol Records, the band's label home, said in a statement Thursday, according to NME.com.
"We are entering an exciting period of rediscovery of their legacy and a reassessment of their place in music history," Murphy said.
An accompanying soundtrack will “showcase the musical talents of Michael’s song writing and velvet lyrics,” he said.
The label hasn't announced a release date for the soundtrack.
INXS had a string of big hit songs in the late 80s, including “What You Need,” “Listen Like Thieves,” “Need You Tonight” and “Never Tear Us Apart,” to name a few.
