Dayton band’s new music video features a galaxy far, far away

One of Dayton's most popular original rock bands, The Story Changes, has dropped a new music video set in a galaxy far, far away. For Star Wars fans, especially, this one is a must see!

With "Golden Age," the latest single from their album "To Hell With this Delicate Equation," the band reflects on their teenage "golden years," when they first became enamored with playing in a punk rock band. In the spirit of those youthful days, the music video for this emo rock anthem is paired with another of their teenage obsessions: Star Wars.

"We grew up enamored with a galaxy far far away and had a great time working with our friend Chris Fafalios from Punchline to put together this animated parody video," lead singer and guitarist Mark McMillon explained. "Hopefully this can provide some laughs right now when I'm sure everyone could use a little distraction while staying at home."

The band wanted to do something animated and have it be a call back to their youth to fit the song.

“Weʼve known Chris Fafalios for a long time from playing shows with his band Punchline. We love his animation. He was a perfect match for the vibe of this video, especially with all the parody aspects,” McMillon continued.

The Story Changes, which formed over a decade ago here in Dayton, took their time recording this latest album, and the subsequent music videos. Recording for the first time in a home studio, which they describe as both “scary and exhilarating,” allowed the band to take their time.

“Once we got past the initial fear of doing it yourself, it was completely freeing and an absolute rush,” McMillion said. “The entire experience paved the way for how we approached putting together the videos and extra content for the album.”
