The Greatest Generation had to endure the Great Depression, World War II, and a polio epidemic. Now, we too are called to do our duty to the nation, and we’ve been training for it our whole lives: stay home and watch TV. There is no reason we should fail at this task!

Here are some fun suggestions if you find yourself endlessly browsing for the next binge-worthy show:

Insecure (HBO - For Mature Audiences)

HBO’s Insecure follows the hilarious, and relatable adventures of Issa Rae, the show’s writer and star. This comedy series serves up hard truths, with a dash of raunchiness, and many touching moments that speak to the realities of modern friendships and love. It’s also refreshing to see modern life through an African-American woman’s lens. Plus, it’s got a bangin’ soundtrack! Season 4 starts April 12, so you’ve got time to catch up before the newest episode drops.

Must See for: Millennials and GenX. Anyone missing Sex in the City.

Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet (Apple TV - For Mature Audiences)

I’m not even a video game fan, but I loved this show. I was not so sure when my husband picked this one out, but the clever writing and colorful cast of diverse characters had me literally laughing out loud at every turn. The story revolves around an ego-maniac at the helm of a creative team, and the office dynamics that play out as a result. F. Murray Abraham (of Amadeus fame) adds a dose of generational confusion that is delightful!

Must See for: Fans of The Office, Silicon Valley, Mad Men. Definitely anyone into video games.

Tiger King (Netflix- For Mature Audiences)

This show is all the rage right now. It’s the train wreck that keeps on giving. As soon as you think, “I’ve heard it all,” this documentary takes another strange and intriguing turn. It follows the true life story of Joe Exotic, a charismatic, gun-toting polygamist and country singer who presides over an Oklahoma roadside zoo. His collection of big cats and strange mix of employees come up against Carole Baskin, an animal activist, in a dark and twisted tale that’s truly hard to believe!

Must See for: Anyone who is thoroughly bored. This will wake ya up! True crime fans.

Baseball: The Tenth Inning, A Film By Ken Burns (PBS - For All Audiences)

We should be celebrating baseball’s opening day (sigh). Alas, for those who are missing America’s favorite pastime, how about a walk down memory lane with America’s favorite documentarian Ken Burns. He specifically asked PBS to make every episode of this series free to stream on all PBS platforms, as a way to remind Americans of their shared love of sport.

Must See for: Sports fans. Anyone with an interest in American history.

The World According to Jeff Goldblum (Disney+ - Parental Guidance Suggested)

This docu-series proves that Jeff Goldblum is a very quirky guy, and he’s an absolute delight to explore the world with! In this show, Goldblum explores his natural curiosity, pulling back the curtain behind everyday objects like jeans, ice cream, cosmetics and pools. He follows the science and expert in his own eccentric, spontaneous and often awkward style, making these seemingly boring topics very fun!

Must See for: Lifelong learners. People who love travel, science, and exploration.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (Amazon Prime - For Mature Audiences)

If you are late to Mrs. Maisel's party, what are you waiting for? This award-winning comedy is worthy of every single accolade. The writing, the acting, the costumes, the sets are all pure perfection. Sometimes, subtle jokes are so tightly interlaced with the obvious ones, I’ve had to rewind to catch them all! The show is set in 1950’s New York City, and follows her transformation from housewife to stand-up comedian, while keeping it a secret from her disapproving parents.

Must See for: Pretty much everyone, especially anyone quarantined with senior citizens.

Curb Your Enthusiasm (HBO - For Mature Audiences)

HBO just aired the finale of Curb Your Enthusiasm’s 10th season this past Sunday. It has certainly provided much needed comic relief at a time like this. If you’re unfamiliar, Curb features Larry David, the co-creator of Seinfeld and the basis for the character of George Castanza. Larry’s unapologetic approach to life is refreshingly honest in the era of “cancel culture.” The latest season pokes fun at our new norms and reminds us not to take things so seriously all the time.

Must See for: Seinfeld fans, obviously. Grumpy old men, for sure.

The Wonder Years (Hulu - Parental Guidance suggested)

If you’re looking for a seriously comforting show to watch, may I suggest a trip back in time to The Wonder Years. I recently started rewatching this series, and it’s been chicken soup for the soul. Kevin Arnold’s innocence, life lessons and heart-warming truths, feel all the more relevant than when they first aired in 1988. You can stream all six seasons of this family friendly, coming of age story on Hulu right now.

Must See for: Families, especially with pre-teens or multiple generations under one roof.

Pen15 (Hulu - For Mature Audiences)

Speaking of coming of age shows, Pen15 is another “must see” on Hulu. Co-creators Maya Erskine and Anna Konkle star as 13-year-old versions of themselves, creating a cringeworthy and far too relatable look at adolescence through two girls’ eyes. This duo hilariously muddles through middle school, with all its heartbreak and awkwardness, while maintaining the thing that matters the most, their friendship.

Must See for: Millennials who want to relive their childhood, or anyone who wants a big scoop of 90's nostalgia.

Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries (YouTube TV or Acorn TV - Parental Guidance suggested)

If you love cozy murder mysteries, this show is one of the best. I first fell in love with the Phryne Fisher book series by Kerry Greenwood, then was delighted to find it was made into a TV series! Both the book and TV series are equally enjoyable romps through the 1920s with the sassy and independent Miss Fisher. The show’s follow-up film, Crypt of Tears, was set to premiere at The Neon this month. Hopefully they’ll be able to stream it soon!

Must See for: Mystery lovers. Anyone who loves 1920's glamour.
