Hamilton’s Fitton Center is planning a big bash — and you’re invited

Live music, class demonstrations and a sneak peek at the 2017-18 season of performances and exhibitions are all part of a Season Launch party this month at the Fitton Center for Creative Arts.

“We’re very excited for what will be our third Season Launch at the Fitton Center,” said Executive Director Ian MacKenzie-Thurley in a statement. “Each year has seen the event grow and draw more of the community in as part of the celebrations. We saw over 1,000 people at last year’s Season Launch and once again encourage people to bring someone to the Fitton that has never been before.”

The Season Launch party will take place from 5 to 9 p.m. Aug. 18 at the Fitton Center, 101 S. Monument Ave.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity to explore the building, talk with staff and volunteers about all the incredible classes, exhibitions, performances and events that we have to offer,” MacKenzie-Thurley said.

The new Fitton Cinema in the Fitton Family Theater will also be unveiled during the event, with short films playing throughout the evening.

Live music by the 25-piece P&G Big Band will entertain guests during the event. Appetizers will be provided throughout the evening with a full cash bar available out on the Riverview Terrace.

There’s even an after party from 9 p.m. until closing at Municipal Brew Works with a special “Center of it Ale” beer as well as food trucks.
