Gullette helped test and develop a line designed by Cincinnati-based Procter & Gamble for African-Americans.

We caught up with our latest Daytonian of the Week.

Q: What do you do and why?

I'm a trichologist, a doctor of naturopathic medicine. I focus on hair loss and getting to the root cause of female hair loss.

For women, hair is our crown and glory, and we grow up feeling it’s a major part of our identity. When we lose our hair, it hits us to the core of our femininity. I want to help eradicate hair loss and help women regain their confidence.

Q: What’s new with you?

My Getting To the Root Cause Of Your Hair Loss Tour. I'll be traveling and educating women on hair loss.

Q: What do you love about life in Dayton?

There is so much to do. Daytonians are really friendly, and we have a lot of rich culture and history here.

Q: What would you do on a perfect date in Dayton?

I love downtown Dayton. I would start off with my favorite cocktail and appetizer at Salar, a stroll through the Oregon District, movies at the Neon, dinner at Delish and end it with live music and dancing at the Taste restaurant.

Q: What is your favorite hidden treasure in Dayton?

Far Hills Avenue. I call it “Wine Tasting Lane.”  On Saturday, I start at one end of Far Hills and go to the other end enjoying one wine tasting after another, and if you catch a good Saturday you'll have live music and art.

Q: Where do you go for a great time?

I'm a dancer: Chicago-style stepping and ballroom dancing. I’m usually at Cognacs for the Stress Free Friday event once a month.

Q: What is your hidden talent?

My hidden talent I would say is event planning and decorating. I can pull an event together in a blink of an eye.

Q: What should people know about Dayton?

That we have sooooooo much to do here. It ruffles my feathers when I hear people say that there's nothing to do. I find myself wondering, “what Dayton are they talking about?”

I just started a page on Facebook called Best Visuals and Venues in the Gem CityI will be showcasing establishments through a blog that I visit once a month just to show the city of Dayton there is a lot to do.

Q: What’s your guilty pleasure?

Having “chick” parties. I would get a group of women together for a chick party every week if I could. I love empowering and networking with women.

Q: What do you think Dayton will look like in 10-15 years?

We will see the Dayton that we had in the 1980s. Downtown will be flourishing with businesses again. Sidewalks will be full of people walking around with shopping bags.
