Brewery to host beach party this weekend, complete with house-made wine coolers

Head to the beach this weekend without leaving the Miami Valley.

Star City Brewing Company will host a beach party called Warm Summer Breezes: a Parrothead Party on Saturday, Aug. 3 from 4-11 p.m.

The party will take place on the brewery’s large outdoor patio, and will feature food from Miamisburg’s Hamburger Wagon, a limbo and costume contest, trop rock playing all afternoon and four new fruit-flavored wine coolers, all made in-house.

"Chad [Klehamer, Star City’s brewer] has been experimenting with a crisp, fun, summer wine beverage,” said Justin Kohnen, owner of Star City Brewing Company, said in a news release. “Once he had it to where he was really happy with it, we decided to throw an event to celebrate warm days and cool wines!”

For Warm Summer Breezes, there will be four new wine coolers available (inspired by tropical rock songs):

• Last Mango in Paris

• Peach House on the Moon

• Woman Gone Crazy on Watermelon Street

• Delanie Talks to Blueberries

“In addition to the wine coolers, we’re encouraging people to come dressed for the occasion,” said Kohnen. “There will be a costume contest, kiddie pools to cool off your feet, the Hamburger Wagon cooking burgers all evening, a limbo contest and so much more. C’mon down to Miamisburg Beach for the day!”
