Famous drummer Richie Ramone returns to Dayton for special concert this week

This week, the Yellow Cab Tavern will welcome back Dayton punk icon, Richie Ramone in a special event on Tuesday, Oct. 9, with support from local bands The Vibe and Good.

Doors open at 7 p.m. and tickets are $10 in advance or $13 at the door. The show begins at 8 p.m.

“Richie’s always had great shows here in Dayton,” said Philly Phill, concert promoter in a news release. “One of the fastest and most powerful drummers to play in one of the fastest and most powerful bands, it’s been great getting him here whenever he’s out on tour.”

Richie Ramone joined The Ramones in 1983, performing in over 500 shows around the world and writing several critically-acclaimed and fan-favorite songs for the albums Animal Boy, Too Tough to Die and Halfway to Sanity. Most recently, Richie released his second CD, Cellophane in August 2017, followed up by a collectible, clear vinyl LP version, and a 7" single for the track "I Fix This."

“We’re really happy with the local bands that we were able to get on this show too,” Philly Phill said. “You’ll definitely want to make it in early to catch the guys from Goon and The Vibe. They’re both taking different bits of that Ramones sound and mentality, and running with it in cool ways.”
