John Legend announces new Christmas album and tour with a few stops close to home

It’s going to be a legendary Christmas with a brand new album and tour coming from Springfield’s John Legend.

The Legendary Christmas Tour includes one Ohio stop in Columbus on Dec. 9 at Palace Theatre and in Indianapolis at Murat Theatre at Old National Centre on Dec. 10.

Fan club and other presale offers begin today. Tickets go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 5. Click here for ticket information. The album will drop on Oct. 26 via Columbia records and feature special guests including Stevie Wonder playing harmonica on "What Christmas Means to Me" and Esperanza Spalding singing on "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," according to published news reports.

It’s been a big month for Legend, earning the rare distinction of the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony winner) with a Creative Emmy win for his work on “Jesus Christ Superstar” and recently signing on as a mentor on “The Voice.”
