Reggae icon Ziggy Marley headed to town this week for concert

Reggae icon Ziggy Marley will perform at the Rose Music Center at The Heights on Tuesday, Sept. 11 with Steel Pulse.

Tickets are still available through Ticketmaster.comRosemusiccenter.com and at the Rose Music Center Box Office. Marley, the son of Rita Marley and reggae legend Bob Marley, recently released Rebellion Rise, his seventh full-length solo studio album.

Marley long ago stepped out of his father’s famous shadow.

He had eight records with Ziggy Marley and The Melody Makers including “Look Who’s Dancing," "Tomorrow People" and "Tumbling Down," before starting his solo career in 2003 with the album “Dragonfly.”

He won Grammys in the best reggae album category in 2006,  2013, 2014 and 2016 for the self-titled Ziggy Marley, which marked his fourth consecutive debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Reggae Album Chart. 
Marley first children's album "Family Time" won the 2009 Grammy for "Best Children's Album."

He also won a Daytime Emmy Award for “I Love You Too,” which shares its title with his 2012 debut children’s book.
