Strap on your lederhosen and get ready to polka at this free festival

It’s time to break out the lederhosen, and get ready for Spass Nacht (″fun night”) at Fraze Pavilion, celebrating Austrian food, entertainment and more.

In honor of Kettering’s sister city Steyr, Austria, Fraze Pavilion has a night of Eastern European fun planned for families at Lincoln Park. The free festival will feature authentic Austrian food, beverages, polka music and live entertainment.

The Chardon Polka Band plays at the 42nd annual Dayton Art Institute Octoberfest Saturday in Dayton. A variety of domestic and international beers were on tap. Music, food and activities for children rounded out the event which continues Sunday from noon to 7 p.m. LISA POWELL / STAFF (Lisa Powell)

The Chardon Polka Band will hit the stage at 6 p.m. with their energetic take on polka. The group has an extensive catalog of traditional polkas, and aren’t afraid to bring their own tunes into the mix along with polka-pop covers of artists like Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga.
