Dayton Podfest returns with local celebrities, live podcasting and tricks of the trade

The world of podcasting is growing, and it’s taking Dayton with it.

Hosted by Gem City Podcast at the Brightside Music & Event Center, Dayton Podfest returns this Saturday, March 30, from 2 p.m. to 11 p.m. Whether you're an avid podcast listener, current podcaster or hope to start one soon, there will be something at Podfest to excite your podcast fandom.

“I am excited that so many people are discovering podcasts and that more and more Dayton area podcasts are being created,” said Amelia Robinson, host of the Dayton-based podcast, “What Had Happened Was.”

Tickets to Dayton Podfest are $10 for the Podfest portion only (2 p.m.- 4 p.m.) and $20 to attend the workshop portion (2 p.m.- 10:30 p.m.). Podfest is scheduled to run as follows:

• 2-4 p.m.: Podcasting Workshop hosted by The Izzy Rock.
During the workshop, Izzy will be joined by fellow Dayton podcasters to walk you through the various stages of creating and maintaining a podcast, share tips and tricks to grow your audience, along with a Q&A session. This workshop is $20 (This also pays for your entry into Dayton Podfest)
• 4-5 p.m.: Podcast Networking - meet with vendors and fellow podcasters
• 5:00-10:30 p.m.: Live Podcasts from Dayton-based podcasts including:
-You Can't Make This Up
-One More Rep Podcast
-What Had Happened Was
-Murder and Such
-The Brohio Podcast
-The Gem City Podcast

Dayton.com’s own Amelia Robinson will present her podcast “What Had Happened Was” during the Live portion of Podfest between 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
