Salar restaurant to host the next NoshUp showcasing Peruvian and world flavors

**UPDATED (Feb. 19, 2020) — All three seatings for the Feb. 23 NoshUp at Salar are sold out.

Ethnosh Dayton is on a roll and is showing no signs of stopping.

It's not even been a year since it's launch locally, and it's already selling out seating for its dining events — including the most recent a few weeks ago at Prem's Chennai Delight in Washington Township.

Ethnosh, an organization that plans monthly dining events called “NoshUps” at immigrant-owned restaurants in Dayton, will be putting the spotlight on a popular Oregon District restaurant when it visits

Salar Restaurant & Lounge.

Diners are sure to be in for a treat when they sit down to hear Chef/Owner Margot Blondet's stories about her food and her culinary journey including her time studying at Le Cordon Bleu, where she graduated first in her class. Her French preparation and cooking fuse with the ingredients and influences of Blondet's birthplace Perú to create dishes that are both sassy, surprising and elegant.

"I am a flavor person. I don't mind which country it's from, if I like the flavor I want to play with that," said Blondet during a previous interview.

It's a tactic that has helped her create a full slate of creative dishes that delight and surprise by drawing on a diverse mixture of cultures and flavors.

The restaurant’s menu gets updated twice a year, before summer (usually in April) and before winter (October). They have a full curated wine list and an exciting craft cocktail list that is a pleasant mixture of classics like Pisco Sours, Mosco Mules, Gimlets and Caipirinhas alongside more interesting boozy creations.

These casual tasting events are a great way to sample and learn about foods from the regions local ethnic restaurants, meet the people behind the scenes and hear their stories of coming to America. Ethnosh launched in Dayton on Oct. 13 at Olive Mediterranean Grill and has since visited Nanyea Restaurant Coffee House & Bar, La Costeñita and Prems Channai Delight, which opened in 2017.
