MONTGOMERY COUNTY FAIR

DAYTON IS FOR LOVERS MUSIC FESTIVAL

Hawthorne Heights headlined the fourth annual music festival Dayton is for Lovers at Yellow Cab Tavern on Saturday, Aug. 25. Weathervein, Minor Love, Crosley Court, The Raging Nathans, Seth Canan & The Carriers, RIND, You vs Yesterday, GoodnightGoodnight, Bribing Senators, BlackWater, Life In Idle and Dead Roses were also on the lineup. If you’re looking for a music festival with Dayton-based bands, then you’re in luck. The 5th annual Dayton is for Lovers Gem City Music Festival returns to the Yellow Cab Tavern this weekend.

The all-ages show kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday, July 12, when doors open, with live music starting shortly after.

KICKIN’ CHICKEN WING FEST

A dozen local restaurants and food trucks were on hand to feed steaming hot chicken wings to hungry chicken wing lovers at this year's Kickin’ Chicken Wing Fest at Fraze Paviliion. ALEXIS LARSEN

Some of the best chicken wings in the area all will be in one spot this weekend. The Eighth Annual Kickin’ Chicken Wing Fest is Saturday, July 13, and will feature wings from places like Amber Rose, Basil’s and Dewberry 1850. You can also enjoy live music on the Fraze stage as you chow down on your favorite flavor of wings.

COMMUNITY FESTIVAL AND HEALTH FAIR

This annual festival is held at the historic McKinley United Methodist Church and features food, games, inflatables, giveaways and information booths. There is also a Kids Eat Free Zone, while supplies last.

DAYTON BLUES FESTIVAL

The Dayton Blues festival begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday, as part of the Downtown Summer Concert Series. Listen to the best blues music this side of the Mississippi, with bands like the Shaun Booker Band, the Soul Fixers, the Kellen Williams Trio, Mississippi Red and the Bumble-Bee-Licious Blues Band and the Tony Cheesebourough Band.

WORTH THE DRIVE: BACON, BOURBON BOURBON AND BREW FESTIVAL
