The South Vienna Corn Festival scheduled for September has been canceled due to the coronavirus, according to event organizers.
This year’s annual event was scheduled for Sept. 11-13.
From humble beginnings, the festival has grown exponentially over the past 44 years, drawing upwards of 100,000 people to the village east of Springfield. It started with just a a tent, a few rides, handful of vendors, and a parade.
