“The Columbus Zoo is home to many animals that have come to represent the United States, such as the bald eagle, our national symbol, and the North American bison, our national mammal. It is also home to animals like the Florida manatee, whose populations are recovering following federally backed protections,” said Tom Stalf, president and CEO of the Columbus Zoo, in a news release. “As we honor our nation’s history, the Zoo is a great place to learn more about our country’s relationship with wildlife conservation initiatives.”

If you can’t make it today, the zoo is offering half-price general admission through Feb. 29. Regular general admission rates for those who live outside Franklin County are $16.99 for children (3-9) and senior citizens age 60+ and $21.99 for adults (10-59).
