Get ready to howl at the dog comedy show at the Victoria Theatre

Your dreams have been answered: a side-splitting, tail-wagging canine-inspired comedic event is coming to Dayton.

Johnny Peers and The Muttville Comix are coming to the Victoria Theatre on Nov. 9, with two showtimes during the day at 1 and 4 p.m., as well as a sensory friendly show on Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.

Since their debut in 1980, Johnny Peers and his gang of canine performers have been showing off their skills all over the world, from the Ringling Brothers Circus to the White House. Throughout the show, Peers will lead his crew of over a dozen dogs through challenging tricks, like walking on a tightrope and balancing various objects on their nose.

Apart from witnessing these feats of bravery, guests will also find the comedy in Murphy, the ladder-climbing Fox Terrier and Willy, the Border Collie who only answers to “Sir.”

To make this canine affair even sweeter, most of the dogs featured in the show are rescues from pounds and shelters. Dog lovers and fans of comedy (or even, shall we say, fans of canine comedy) will appreciate the way that peers allows his pack of pooches to steal the limelight.

From 2:30 to 3:30, Education and Engagement Team and Teen Ambassadors will be on the third floor of the Victoria Theatre for Family Storytime and free coloring and drawing activities designed to spark conversations and questions related to the themes presented in the show.
