It’s almost Dayton Air Show weekend! The last thing anyone wants is to be stuck in traffic trying to get there or frustrated over parking.
Here are some travel tips that anyone headed to the show should know.
The number one tip is to arrive early to avoid heavy traffic. Delays are expected on National Road and Dixie Drive throughout Air Show weekend. Be sure to allow yourself plenty of time to get there.
WHERE TO PARK
There’s plenty of onsite parking. Make sure you know where you’re headed based on the type of ticket you purchased.
Expect a long walk from the parking lot to the show grounds. Free shuttles will pick up guests at the front of the P-lot parking lot and take to the Pavilion or Blue Sky chalet areas. The shuttle runs from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. continuously.
HOW TO GET THERE FROM THE HIGHWAY: Parking lots can be accessed from either I-75 or I-70. If you’re traveling north or south on I-75, use Exit 64 toward Northwoods Blvd. and follow the signs based on your ticket type. Those traveling east or west on I-70 are advised to use Exit 32, the Airport Access Road.
Drivers are encouraged to follow signs posted along the show route as well as the directions conveyed by the police officers.
