In a matter of weeks, fans will be able to see the Robert Redford, Danny Glover and Casey Affleck movie filmed in downtown Dayton in downtown Dayton.

The Neon, 130 E. Fifth Street in downtown Dayton, will be the only Dayton area movie theater to screen the “Old Man and The Gun,” said Lisa Grigsby, FilmDayton’s executive director.

Fox Searchlight is set to release“Old Man and The Gun,” which is based on bank robber and escape artist Forrest “Woody” Tucker’s real life, on Oct. 5.
FilmDayton, an organization that promotes the Dayton film industry, will benefit from a portion of the ticket sales from the Dayton premiere of the film that also stars Sissy Spacek. The premiere will take place from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11.
Admission for seniors will be $14. General admission will be $16. Regular screenings of the film will start Oct. 12.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Redford said he is ending his six-decade career.

Old Man and The Gun is thought to be his last acting role.
Much of the movie was filmed in and around Cincinnati, but Grigsby said the film made a $200,000 economic impact here during its two day of filming downtown in May of 2017.
Shoots filmed in Dayton including one showing Robert Redford and Danny Glover on top of the Talbott Tower, can be seen in the newly released trailer for the “Old Man and The Gun.”

About 75 extras from the region were used and about 35 of the 100 member crew were local residents, Grigsby said.
“(The film) is validation of the fact that movies can be made here,” she said. “From FilmDayton’s perspective, it is all about bringing jobs to Ohio ad using that tax incentive.”
The Ohio Motion Picture Tax Credit offers a refundable, transferable tax credit of 30 percent on production cast and crew wages and other eligible in-state spending, according to the state’s film office.

FilmDayton will hold a 10th anniversary celebration Thursday, Sept. 27, at at the new Liberty Tower event space.
Grigsby said details are still being finalized, but general admission to the party will be about $15. VIP admission will be about $50.

The Dayton skyline and Liberty Tower are among the scenes seen in the trailer.
Another scene shows Robert Redford and Danny Glover on top of the Talbott Tower.
Parts of downtown Hamilton were also used.
A gas station and the Midway Theater in Bethel (southeast of Cincinnati) were also used in the movie.
