Jay’s Seafood celebrates 44th anniversary with impressive wine luncheon

On February 26, 1976, Dayton’s dining industry was changed forever. On this day in history, Jay’s Seafood was first opened. Jay’s Seafood was the creative genius of restaurateur Jay Haverstick, who had previously opened Yankee Tavern in Centerville. Since then, Jay’s Seafood has remained a favorite of Daytonians, and has been able to keep much of its original charm. In fact, since its opening in 1976, many of the same menu items, decor and staff members can still be spotted at the local institution.
