It’s that time of year where it’s decided who was naughty and who was nice. Fifth Street Brewpub doesn’t care, though. The brewpub is still treating you to one of its holiday favorites.

First brewed in 2015 by Jim Witmer and Niall Foster, Mint Cookie Stout was an instant hit. On Wednesday, Nov. 21, it’s officially back for the season, according to the brewpub’s general manager Tanya Brock.

Fifth Street Brewpub will open its doors at 1 p.m. Wednesday for the 2 p.m. tapping and re-release of Mint Cookie. Beer enthusiasts can get the 7 percent alcohol American stout on draft or by the growler.

A second version of the beer, called Mint Cookie2 (for Mint Cookie Squared), will be released,in bottles only, at noon (11 a.m. for members) on Black Friday, Nov. 23.

The Mint Cookie2 has double the chocolate of the draft version that will be released two days earlier, Brock said. The beer’s tasting notes describe the Mint Cookie2 this way: "Pleasing notes of double chocolate and fresh mint headline the flavor profile backed by a strong cookie vibe that is sure to double your pleasure this holiday season."

There are 100 22-ounce “bomber” bottles of the Mint Cookie2 available for $11.99 each, and no limit on bottle sales, Brock said. The brewpub will serve brunch on Black Friday as part of the bottle release, and also will tap a keg of another variant, Raspberry Mint Cookie, that day.
