New beer festival at the Schuster spotlights local breweries

A new beer festival happening July 18 at the Schuster Center will be focused on the local craft beer scene.

Brewster at the Schuster will feature local brews from Toxic Brew Company, Warped Wing Brewing Company, Yellow Springs Brewery, Star City Brewing Company, Fifth Street Brewpub, Dayton Beer Company, Eudora Brewing Company and Hairless Hare Brewery.

Mojo wings, fish tacos, pretzels with beer cheese and corned beef and sauerkraut beignets created by the kitchen at Citilites will also be available for purchase for $5 each.

Here are six reasons to check it out:
1) An opportunity to taste 20 different local beers in one place.
2) A way to find out more about the microbrews that are putting Dayton on Ohio's "beer map," thanks to brewery representatives who will be on site.
3) Live music featuring Robb Young on guitar.
4) A gorgeous venue that allows for relaxing and adventuring among palm trees.
5) Designated driver tickets for $5 each.
6) Did we mention beer? Yellow Springs Brewery will have Captain Stardust and Zoetic; Star City Brewing Company will have Old Mill Stout and Dry Lock IPA; Fifth Street Brewpub will have Senorita Ramona and Herbivore No. 1 (a honey basil ale); and Eudora will bring Mother Fuggle Brown and Bangarang among others.
