If there’s one thing the Oregon District does right, it’s independent business.
In honor of the Fourth of July and independent businesses, the neighborhood is hosting a new street festival — the 2018 Oregon District Independents' Day Street Fair.
The goal of the event, according to event organizers, is to celebrate and develop independent culture, commerce and creativity. There will be food, drinks and opportunity to shop from local vendors. Vendors will be announced closer to the event.
Event organizers are currently accepting vendor applications. Email Heart Mercantile for more information, firstname.lastname@example.org.
The new street fair will take place from 1-8 p.m. Also happening downtown that same day is The City of Dayton’s signature Fourth celebration — City of Dayton Lights in Flight Fireworks Festival at Riverscape Metropark. That event will begin at 5 p.m. and run until 10 p.m.
Lights in Flight returns to downtown Dayton's RiverScape Metropark on Tuesday, July 3, with a multi-cultural festival featuring music, food and family fun including a kids' zone. The festival begins at 5 p.m., and fireworks will light the sky over downtown Dayton at 10 p.m.
