Omega has planned one of its best Record Store Days yet.
Record Store Day is an annual event started in 2008 to celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store. “The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores across the world,” according to Wikipedia.
Omega Music is throwing its own celebration for Record Store Day 2019 from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, April 13. Head to the store in the Oregon District for limited-edition vinyl releases, live music, a special Warped Wing beer tasting and a food drive that could win you some great prizes.
The special Warped Wing tasting is the brand new Brainiac Pale Ale that’s simultaneously being released the very same day at the brewery. “We’ll have 6pk cans of Brainac for sale in the morning (while supplies last!) and we’l also be holding a beer tasting in the store at 5 p.m. Proceeds from the beer sales to benefit our friends at Five Rivers Youth Rugby Foundation,” according to the Omega events page.
Shoppers can stop by Warped Wing after purchasing new records to play them on a turntable in the Taproom.
If you get to the party early enough, Omega is busting out the Bingo boards to play a few rounds with prizes up for grabs while guests wait in line. Wholly Grounds will be passing out free coffee samples in the morning.
The prize wheel also will be back in action.
“We’re holding a food drive with The Foodbank, Inc. and will have a barrel set up for nonperishable food donations. Hand your donation to any Omega employee when you come in, and we’ll give you one hefty spin on our beloved prize wheel!”
