One of Dayton’s oldest taverns is introducing a very new game show night this week.

Suzy Switzer, the manager of Trolley Stop at 530 E. Fifth St. in the Oregon District, said the bar and restaurant wants to try something different.

“People have been doing trivia for years. It’s over played. We are going to step it up and do something different,” Switzer said.

On the heels of of its popular lip sync battle series (watch out for battle of the downtown businesses), Trolley Stop is launching its periodical game show night series with "Trolley Stop's Version of Family Feud" set for 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Nov. 29.

Switzer said the eight slots for teams were quickly grabbed by actual families, friends and other groups.

“We are going to do our best to mimic the show as close as possible,” Switzer said.

Local comedian Ben Lyons will step into the role of Steve Harvey as host of the game, but don’t expect the typical Family Feud-like questions.

Switzer said she and her staff plan to poll customers in the weeks leading up to the contest and ask very Dayton-ey questions.

Some of those questions won’t be PC, which is part of the reason Trolley is reminding people the event is for those 21 and over.

For instance, what would you say is the top-selling item at nearby Exotic Fantasies?

“It’s fun, and it’s different, and I don’t think anyone else is doing it,” Switzer said.
