5 reasons to check out Ringing in the Holidays at Dayton History

The magic of the holiday season comes alive at Carillon Historical Park this weekend!

The 22nd annual Ringing in the Holidays celebration will be held from 6:30-10 p.m. this Saturday, November 19. This year's theme is "I'll Be Home for Christmas," a patriotic tribute to our troops throughout history.

Here are some of our top reasons to go.

1.) NEW EXHIBITS: We will be unveiling a series of new and reimagined exhibits in The Heritage Center of Dayton Manufacturing and Entrepreneurship, including exhibits dedicated to Henny Penny, Price Brothers, WinSupply, and the life and work of Governor James M. Cox.

2.) DAYTON’S MOST DELIGHTFUL DESSERT CONTEST: Guests and local celebrities sample offerings from six of the region's finest chefs. Winners receive the People's Choice, Critic's Choice, and Best Presentation awards.

3.) WINTER GETAWAY RAFFLE: One lucky attendee will win a two-night stay at the historic Chatwal Hotel in Manhattan, including two-round trip Delta Airline tickets from Dayton or Cincinnati to New York. The second prize winner will receive the opportunity to flip the switch on the Carillon Tree of Light on November 30, 2016, officially kicking off A Carillon Christmas.

4.) PHOTO OPPORTUNITIES WITH SANTA: Take a photo with Kris Kringle himself!

5.) HOLIDAY SHOPPING & SILENT AUCTION: The Carillon Historical Park Museum will be open for all your holiday needs. The 2016 Ringing in the Holidays commemorative ornament, designed and painted by Kathleen Jablinski, will be available in limited quantities. Attendees will also have the opportunity to win exciting packages and gifts in the silent auction.
