Birds are chirping, flowers are in bloom and farm babies are poking their heads out to look at the world.
Aullwood Farm will hold its annual Farm Babies Fest this weekend. The event is educational and fun, no doubt. But here are a few things you may not know.
Savor sandwiches made with Aullwood’s local meats, brick-oven pizzas, lemon shake-ups, sugar waffles, kettle corn, grilled cheese sandwiches, home-baked goodies and Graeter’s Ice Cream.
Meet adorable baby farm animals and say hello to new furry friends from Canine Companions, Team Greyhound Adoption of Ohio, Grandview Pet Therapy and Gem City Dog Obedience Club. Visit the century-old bank barn and see live shows throughout the day. Kick off the fun with Duck Tails with Ed Marrinan at 11 a.m., then join Aullwood’s own Chris Rowlands and his farmyard friends for Farmin' Fever and sing along with humorous songs at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. At 1 p.m., the Miami Valley Dance Council Square Dancers will perform and invite audience members to join in.
Watch live demonstrations of beekeeping, dog training, butter making and duck herding with John Allread. Meet a black rat snake and other animals at Aullwood’s Wildlife Wonders show at 3 p.m.
Purchase great herbs and flowers to brighten up your backyard from the Greenview Garden Club plant sale.
