The 2 hosts of America’s Test Kitchen are coming to Dayton, and yes, there’s food involved

America’s Test Kitchen Chefs and program hosts Bridget Lancaster and Julia Collin Davison are coming to Dayton and Cincinnati.

In one of the two Dayton events, Sinclair Community College students who are enrolled in the college’s culinary arts program will prepare, demonstrate and serve several America’s Test Kitchen recipes, according to ThinkTV in greater Dayton (WPTD Channel 16 in Dayton and WPTO Channel 14 in Oxford) and CET in Cincinnati.

Lancaster and Davison were named co-hosts for America's Test Kitchen in 2016. They are original cast members of the show and have each appeared in hundreds of recipe segments since it launched in 2001.

Davison was originally hired as a test cook to develop recipes and write articles for Cook's Illustrated magazine. Prior to America's Test Kitchen, Davison worked at several restaurants, catering companies, and wineries in Albany, N.Y.; The Berkshires, Mass.; San Francisco and Napa Valley, Calif.

Lancaster also started as a test cook for Cook's Illustrated, developing recipes and writing articles. She previously served as the lead instructor for the company's online cooking school. Prior to America's Test Kitchen, Lancaster worked in restaurants in the South and Northeast with a focus on pastry.

The chefs have two events on Nov. 21 at the Cincinnati State Midwest Culinary Institute.

They come to Dayton on Nov. 22. , where a lunch event at Dorothy Lane Market’s Culinary Center is already sold out. But tickets are still available for the Sinclair Community College event at 6 p.m. (VIP meet and greet) and 6:30 p.m. (General Admission) at the Sinclair Conference Center in Building 12.

The general admission ticket includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, dessert bar, drinks, a one-hour cooking demonstration, Q&A session and parking, ThinkTV officials said. The VIP ticket also includes a reception and a personal photo with the chefs.

The Dayton events have been made possible by support from Dorothy Lane Market, Sinclair College and ThinkTV, according to a Think TV release.

“For almost two decades, America’s Test Kitchen has been one of public television’s most popular culinary series. We’re thrilled that chefs Bridget and Julia will be joining us for a two-day visit to Dayton and Cincinnati this November,” ThinkTV/CET President David Fogarty said in a release. “It’s also a great opportunity for us to partner with Dorothy Lane Market, Sinclair College and Cincinnati State College for some unique events that will really whet our appetites.”

Proceeds from these events will support ThinkTV and CET programs on air, online and in the community.
