Brunch and food trucks just belong together.
Mark your calendars for the next brunch-themed food truck rally at the Yellow Cab, happening this weekend.
Every first Sunday of every month April through October, Yellow Cab Tavern (700 E. 4th St., Dayton) will host Brunch! A Food Truck Rally.
On Sunday, May 5 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., food trucks will be on site including (lineup subject to change):
• Son of a Biscuit
• Bricky Barrels Smoked BBQ LLC
• Billie Gold Bubble Tea
• Greek Street Food Truck
• The Painted Pepper
• Sweets on the Streets
Whatever your brunch preferences, you will be hard pressed not to find something to like. In addition to eggs done every way you can think of, all the salty breakfast meats, waffles, biscuits and gravy and lunch creations for those who think brunch is overrated (you're crazy by the way), Yellow Cab will have all of the beverages you are looking for including coffee, Bloody Marys, mimosas and craft beer.
OUR FAVORITE DISHES FROM PAST BRUNCH EVENTS ...
To get you pumped for first Sundays, here are some of the dishes we tried and loved at the brunch rallies last season.
LOBSTER POUTINE FRIES
The lobster poutine fries from Harvest Mobile Cuisine were amazing! We should have gotten another order.
This dish featured crisp harvest fries topped with local cheese curds, fresh Maine lobster and lobster bisque.
WICKED FRENCH TOAST
Another dish I tasted was The Wicked ‘Wich’s French toast. The fluffy bread (fresh from Evan’s Bakery) featured just the right amount of crunch and included a side of syrup for a sweet finish.
“We got to do all our fun sandwich ideas for brunch, including a French toast sandwich with bacon, Nutella and banana,” said Katie Marks, owner of The Wicked ‘Wich food truck.
The food truck will be taking up residence at The Barrel House starting this Friday, April 5.
Greek Street Food Truck’s baklava delivers a flaky, crunchy, sweet end to any brunch adventure.
For a breakfast that just tastes like fall, look no further than Drunken Waffle, Twisted Taco’s twist on its classic Toxic Practice Yoga IPA infused waffle.
2PAC SHA-KURRY TACOS
Leaning a little more toward lunch, on your brunch spectrum? We loved the fusion of flavors on Drunken Waffle Twisted Tacos’ curry tacos. The pulled chicken tastes just like Tikka Masala, yet on a taco, the popular Indian dish feels a lot lighter. The cucumber yogurt sauce really sets it off.
Who knew smoky BBQ would be so good wrapped up with eggs and cheese?
