1) BOURBON & BUBBLES

Dayton Art Institute is focusing on champagne and whiskey in the new event Bourbon & Bubbles. This spring cocktail party, in DAI's Shaw Gothic Cloister, 456 Belmonte Park North, Dayton, at 7 p.m. Friday, April 21, features handcrafted drinks and gourmet appetizers.

Food is from Elite Catering and St. Anne the Tart. Live music is provided by Viva la Strings. Tickets for the Century Bar’s VIP Speakeasy Lounge are sold out.

2) CELTIC WOMAN

In November 2016, Celtic Woman released its 11th studio album, "Voices of Angels." It was the first album for new violist Tara McNeil, who joined the Grammy-nominated Irish group shortly before the recording sessions began last August. Celtic Woman, out on its "Voices of Angels" tour, returns to town for a concert at the Schuster Center, Second and Main streets, Dayton, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 21. Cost: $42-$102. 3) DAVID SEDARIS

NPR has created its share of mainstream success stories, from Garrison Keillor to Ira Glass. However, none of the public radio announcers are quite like author and in-demand orator David Sedaris. The distinctive humorist has written books like "Naked," "Me Talk Pretty One Day" and "Let's Explore Diabetes With Owls." 4) SPRING DANCE CONCERT

This weekend, Wright State Theatre is presenting its Spring Dance Concert WSU's Festival Playhouse, 3640 Colonel Glenn Hwy., Fairborn. The program features the works of Dwight Rhoden, Bob Fosse and other choreographers. The concerts, which opened on Thursday, April 20, are presented through Sunday, April 23. 5) FANTASTIC BRASS

For "Fantastic Brass," the next installment of the Chamber Series, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra will showcase brass and percussion musicians. The concert, at the Dayton Art Institute's Renaissance Auditorium, 456 Belmonte Park North, Dayton, at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 23, also features conductor Patrick Reynolds and mezzo-soprano Elizabeth Frey. The program includes selections by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Gustav Mahler, Philip Glass and other composers. 6) RECORD STORE DAY

While many modern music consumers prefer streaming songs digitally, there is still an active portion of the market dedicated to the more immersive experience of listening to music in older formats like vinyl, cassettes and CDs. That is the portion of music buying public targeted for Record Store Day on Saturday, April 22. The 10th annual international celebration of independently owned music stores returns to local shops such as Omega Music, 318 E. 7) TASTE OF GREENE COUNTY

More than 20 area food purveyors, from restaurants and bakeries to caterers, will be spotlighting specialty dishes in the 20th annual Taste of Greene County. Reza's Roast, McCormick & Schmicks, Ele Cake Company, City Barbeque and Young's Jersey Dairy are just some of the participants in the food event, at Nutter Center, 3640 Colonel Glenn Hwy., Fairborn, from noon to 3 p.m. VIP patrons admitted at 11 a.m. Cost: $15 general admission in advance, $20 at the door; $13 seniors and military, $6 children ages 6-12. 8) JEWISH INTERNATIONAL FILM FEST

The Dayton Jewish International Film Festival begins a new season of select titles on Tuesday, April 25. The opening movie, "Fanny's Journey," is presented at Rave Cinemas, The Greene, 4489 Glengarry Drive, Beavercreek, at 7 p.m. Screenings are presented at various locations including The Neon, 130 E. Fifth St., Dayton, and The Little Art Theatre, 247 Xenia Ave., Yellow Springs. Screening times vary. Other films include "The Kind Words," "On the Map," "Persona Non Grata" and "In Search of Israeli Cuisine. Cost: Individual screenings are $9 adults, $8 students. Festival passes are $75. 9) WITHIN THE RUINS

It has been 14 years since the members of Within the Ruins began kicking out the jams together in Westfield, Mass. The group was built on a foundation of riffs, beer and touring with friends. While some of the faces have changed over the years, those concepts still drive the heavy metal outfit. Within the Ruins, on the road supporting the recently released album, "Halfway Human," performs at Rockstar Pro Arena, 1106 E. Third St., Dayton, at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 22. Cost: $12. 10) TIME WARP PROM

For many high school students, prom is one of the highlights of the spring season. It's a golden time they'll never forget. The folks at Mix 107.7 believe you should never have to outgrow that feeling so each spring the radio station hosts the Time Warp Prom, which gives adults a chance to party, dance to the music of Stranger and have a good time. "Purple Rain" is the theme of this year's installment of the annual '80s-themed dance, co-presented by Mix 107.7 and Voss Auto Network in the Nutter Center's McLin Gym, 3640 Colonel Glenn Hwy., Fairborn, at 8 p.m. Saturday, April 22.
