The Dayton Concours d’Elegance, the Miami Valley’s annual celebration of classic cars, returns Sunday for the 13th year.
More than 200 antique and classic automobiles and motorcycles will be displayed at Carillon Historical Park. This year the event will highlight classic Rolls Royce, Packard, Bentley and Cadillac automobiles and honor the 50th anniversary of the Pontiac Trans Am.
Concours weekend will kick off on Saturday evening, Sept. 14th, with a casual jazzy New Orleans Preview Party open to the public, on the grounds of the Carillon Historical Park. The party will preview some of the Concours automobiles and feature an automotive art pavilion, music, silent auction, food and beverages. Advance tickets are available on line at Daytonconcours.com or at Carillon Park. Ticket prices are $95 per person, $85 for Dayton History members.
The Concours will be held Sunday, Sept. 15 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cars and motorcycles will be judged for awards in 28 classes and a parade of class winning cars, motorcycles and major award winners will be presented at 3 pm.
Live entertainment and a variety of local food and beverages will be featured throughout the day. All exhibits at the park will be open.
Proceeds from the Concours go to Dayton History, the local non-profit that operates Carillon Park, Hawthorn Hill, the Wright Brothers home, Patterson Homestead and various other historic sites in the Dayton area.
