There's nothing like Memorial Day to mark the start of summer.

Here are some great ways to celebrate the holiday, honor those who sacrificed all for our country and enjoy an extra-long weekend.

☀️Memorial Day Weekend at Young’s Dairy 

“Celebrate Memorial Day with us. You show up, we’ll supply the fun,” according to Young’s website. Spend the beautiful Memorial Day Weekend at Young's Jersey Dairy enjoying ice cream, miniature golf, the driving range, batting cages, slides and more. Once you’ve completed your 18 holes at the miniature golf course, head over to the carnival to ride a few rides.

☀️Feast of the Flowering Moon Festival 

Celebrate your Memorial Day Weekend at the Feast of the Flowering Moon Festival. Experience Native American culture featuring music, dancing, traders and exhibits, and loads of activities and demonstrations for children and adults alike. The festival is free.

WHERE: Yoctangee Park, Chillicothe 

WHEN: Thursday, May 24 through Sunday, May 27

☀️Patriot Freedom Festival 

If you’re having trouble trying to figure out what to do for Memorial Day weekend, the Patriot Freedom Festival is something you won’t want to miss. See Civil War Re-enactments and cannon firings, live music and the Four Freedom Equestrian team doing a very moving war drama routine. Honor those who have served the country by attending the Flag Refresh Ceremony and Memorial Day Services for the Gold Star Mothers. In between the fun, enjoy food from various vendors.

☀️Dayton Heritage Festival 

The Dayton Heritage Festival is a great way to get in touch with your inner Daytonian and celebrate the Memorial Day weekend. Carillon’s collection of buildings and exhibits will be on display as a full day of entertainment is planned. The Dayton Philharmonic will close out the festivities, playing patriotic favorites. There will be costumed interpreters and more.

☀️Scene 75 BOGO Day

In honor of Memorial Day, Scene 75 will once again be hosting their BOGO day, with buy-one-get-one-free attractions all day long. For every attraction that you purchase, you’ll receive a pass to play the same attraction for FREE. Plus, receive a 10% military discount on any game card purchase with valid military ID.

☀️Rocky’s Run for Freedom 5K 

Honor Miamisburg resident, Marine Cpl. Paul “Rocky” Zanowick II, who was killed in the line of duty in Afghanistan on June 3, 2011 by participating in this 5K run. All proceeds will benefit the City of Miamisburg for a Veterans Memorial Park project, Gold Star Families Memorial Monument at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at WPAFB and The Uriah Edward Zanowick Trust Fund.

☀️Victory Dance and Dinner 

Visit The Legion‘s website for purchasing tickets in advanced. Drop on by The American Legion Post 165 for dinner and dancing. Put your dancing shoes on and get ready to jam with the Tom Benner Band.
