An Oktoberfest celebration that is actually held in October? It can happen. And it WILL happen. This Saturday.

“We always like to throw our Oktoberfest the second weekend of October as a final farewell to the festival season and fall, and to give people one last chance to wear their Lederhosen,” said Pete Hilgeman, founder of Dayton Beer Company and apparently one of the few Oktoberfest hosts who can read a calendar.
The brewery will host its 2017 Oktoberfest from noon to midnight this Saturday, Oct. 14, at 41 Madison St. at East Second Street just east of downtown Dayton. It is the brewery’s third annual Oktoberfest celebration.
“We’ve got three bands lined up throughout the day, lots of delicious craft beer — including German-inspired beers — in draft and cans and bottles,” Hilgeman said. Commemorative steins also will be offered for sale.
