On at least one day of the year, it’s totally acceptable to indulge in a pint of cookie dough ice cream before noon. On Saturday, Feb. 1, ice cream lovers all over the world can rejoice in their love of consuming the sweet treat before an acceptable time on Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. And, conveniently, Jubie’s Creamery in Fairborn is hosting its very own ode to this special holiday.
Celebrate Ice Cream for Breakfast Day at Jubie’s Creamery in Fairborn by digging into specialty hot chocolate and coffee floats and ice cream with other breakfast-inspired flavors — all while still in your pajamas. (And yes, in this instance, it is perfectly acceptable to wear your pajamas in public — after all, you’re already consuming ice cream for breakfast).
On this particular day, visitors to Jubie’s Creamery can find donut sundaes (using donuts from Bill’s Donut Shop), hot chocolate and coffee floats and Cinnamon Toast Crunch ice cream (is your stomach growling yet?!) all on the special menu.
Jubie’s Creamery will be opening early, at 9 a.m., to serve up these sweet treats. A portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated to the Fairborn YMCA. The creamery will also be honoring their original hours (1-9 p.m.) after the event, though be sure to get there before 1 p.m. to indulge in the sweet treats on the special event menu.
Here are a few other places in the Miami Valley and beyond celebrating the special day as well:
- Poppin’ Off in Troy is celebrating the holiday with Tofts Ice Cream for breakfast, along with breakfast-inspired popcorn flavors and other menu items that will be announced at a later date. Wear your pajamas and receive a prize. The event begins at 9 a.m. and is located at 125 S. Market St. in Troy. For more information, visit their Facebook page.
- If you’re willing to make the drive, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is also participating in the national food holiday at all of its Ohio locations. The locations will be open from 8 a.m. to noon and premiering the brand’s new Skillet Cinnamon Roll ice cream, a sweet cream cheese ice cream with dark caramel sauce, pastry and cinnamon. Additionally, at some locations, local coffee roasters will be on hand serving Coffee Floats. All of the profits from this event will benefit DoSomething.org, a digital platform that caters to those young people looking to make a social change. For more information, and to find the location closest to you, visit their Facebook page and website.
