A wine pairing with Halloween candy — and a local restaurant is hosting it ON Halloween!

The event at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse &  Wine Bar is scheduled for, of course, Halloween, Oct. 31

I’ve seen a lot of wine-pairing special events, but this one takes the ... um ... cake.

A Beavercreek steakhouse will host a “Halloween Candy & Wine Pairings” event on, of all nights. Oct. 31 — Halloween evening.

The event will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. that Wednesday, Oct. 31 at the Fleming's Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar at 4432 Walnut St. at The Greene Town Center in Beavercreek.

“Grab your costume and kick your Halloween up a notch,” Fleming’s officials said in a release. “Guests will indulge in a wide variety of pairings and will learn what candy combinations treat and which ones will trick.”

“Pairing examples include combinations such as Licorice and Rosé, Candy Corn and Moscato, Peanut Butter Cups and Pinot Noir and many more! Guests will also enjoy passed appetizers such as Filet Flatbread, Steakhouse Meatballs, Filet/Chicken Satays, Pork Belly Bites and Harvest Vegetable Tempura.”
