The Yellow Cab Tavern in Dayton will pay tribute to summer with its first Summer Solstice Concert Series.
The events planned for June 20-23 include a night of live band karaoke and tributes to Guided By Voices and Jerry Garcia and The Grateful Dead.
Tickets to each show are $7 in advance and $10 at doors.
“We had such a great time with the Winter Solstice, when I saw Bee Thousand’s 25th anniversary was going to be near the Summer Solstice — it just kind of all made sense,” David Obenour, concert promoter, said in a news release. “With the first show in place featuring the amazing Blazing Gentlemen, it was off to the races to set up the next series.”
Schedule for the Summer Solstice Concert Series:
“Grateful Dead and Jerry projects are always great because live is really how that music was meant to be heard,” Obenour said. “I’m really excited for Thursday night too. I mean, the chance to front The Big Wazu for live band karaoke? Heck yeah!”
The Yellow Cab Tavern is located at 700 E. 4th St. in Dayton near the Oregon District.
