But one thing’s for certain: Dayton doesn’t take St. Patrick’s Day lightly.

Harrigan’s St. Patrick’s Day Charity 5K
It’s a St. Patrick's tradition for a great cause. Proceeds go toward helping support local charities such as the Alzheimer's Association, United Rehabilitation Services, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and South Community, Inc.

Brown Street Shamrock Shuffle Pub Crawl
This event kicks off Wednesday, March 14 at 9 p.m. Wristbands grant you access to most bars with live DJs along with Miller Lite specials at Milano’s, Flanagan’s Pub, The Fieldhouse, Romer’s and Buffalo Wild Wings. Only 200 shirts will be ordered this year, so hurry to get yours while you can! Registration is only $5 during the entire month of February.

Ithika Rocks St. Patrock’s Day
Nothing shy of perfection here. Join this all-encompassing Irish party with live bands, beer, Irish dance and food. Live entertainment from your favorite WTUE and ALT 103.9 personalities along with the Ithika, Dulahan and other great musical acts.

ARTEMIS CENTER’S ST. PATRICK MARDI GRAS GALA
A Mardi Gras celebration to benefit the Artemis Center, Dayton’s domestic violence resource agency. The evening begins with cocktail hour including two complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a cash bar. Cocktail attire is recommended, and Mardi Gras masks and hats encouraged.
“Founded by a small group of women, often working without pay, Artemis was to provide services beyond the traditional housing and safety offered by shelters,” according to its website.

MIAMI VALLEY PIPES AND DRUMS AT AT BEEF O’BRADY’S
The ever-popular Miami Valley Pipes and Drums bagpipe band will be making a stop at Beef O’ Brady’s during Saturday afternoon as a part of their Dayton-area St. Patrick’s Day tour. More details about Beef O’ Brady’s St. Patrick’s Day specials are coming soon, but it’s no secret that this place knows how to do St. Patrick’s Day right.

St. Patty's Day is just around the corner, and CHBC has been working hard to make 2018 a memorable one. There will be green beer, Irish Red Ale flowing from the taps, green jello shots and specials on Jameson and Tully. Limited edition green CHBC t shirts will be available and the night will be capped off with Live music from Kenny Floyd.

St. Patrick’s Day At The Dublin Pub
One of Dayton’ biggest St. Patrick’s Day bashes, the party starts on March 16 at the Dublin Pub at 8 p.m. when the tent opens for the pre-show and a live band (TBA). The official beginning of the 20th annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration kicks-off at 5:30 a.m. on March 17, where the first 100 people will get a free T-shirt.

St. Patty’s Day 2-Day Party at The Irish Club of Dayton
For no cover charge at all, you can experience two whole days of one of Dayton’s best St. Patrick’s Day parties. The celebration kicks off on Friday with the Father Son & Friends band, followed by the Dwyer School of Irish Dancers. Of course, you can’t go hungry with Irish Stew and other food and drink specials all night long. Then, wake up Saturday morning to a ‘Big O’ Breakfast’ for just $5 to get ready for a lineup of a day, including 92.9 Jack FM Live with Danielle, the O’Rodney Band and many more.

Star City Party
This year, Star City Brewing Co. is launching what it hopes will become an annual tradition. The local craft beer company is hosting its first Miamisburg’s St. Patrick’s Day Party featuring beer, food, games and music from Harold Hensley and Max Nunery of the Repeating Arms. The food truck Son of a Biscuit will be on site. Cost: $5.

St. Patrick’s Day at the Market
Your favorite one-stop-shop for all things local in Dayton, the 2nd Street Market, will be a sea of green this St. Patrick’s Day. It’s not every year that St. Patty’s Day lands on a Saturday-- but we sure lucked out this year. Dancers from the Celtic Academy of Irish Dance will follow a morning of Live Celtic music. This event is free.

Follow the Leprechaun Friends and Family Hike
Before the day of adult festivities begin, this free event is a great opportunity to get the kids and family out for some fresh air. This Saturday morning hike through the beautiful Grant Park is just one of many Friends and Family Hikes in 2018. If you attend at least three hikes, you will receive a free T-shirt!

TROLL PUB DAYTON GRAND OPENING
It’s official: Troll Pub at the Wheelhouse will host its grand opening on St. Patrick’s Day. Troll Pub at the Wheelhouse will give St. Patrick’s Day revelry-seekers another option beyond the Dublin Pub just up the street. Many other bars and restaurants in the Oregon District and the Brown Street strip also are planning special events on Saturday.

Timothy’s Bar is getting St. Patrick’s Day started ASAP this year. The bar is bringing back the “original 5:30 a.m. club” and opening doors Saturday morning for a FREE limited-edition “Breakfast at Timothy’s” T-shirt with a $5 2018 Bud Lite mug purchase. According to Timothy’s Facebook event page, if all inspections go according to plan, there will be FREE breakfast provided at the Double 18 Lounge — the new addition to Timothy’s bar, which intends to open this week.

Boozy brunch from 8-11 a.m., then Irish favorites for the rest of the day including corned beef and cabbage, Guinness Stew, Reuben sandwich, Fish and chips, Whisky Bread Pudding and more. O’Conners Irish Pub
O’ Conners will mark its 10th St. Patrick’s Day starting on Friday, March 16 with the band Full Frontal at 9:30 p.m. and the Tullamore Dew girls handing out samples of the whiskey and other giveaways. The cover charge is $5.
The pub will open at 10 a.m. on Saturday with more live traditional Irish music from Black Thorne and Laurel, followed by local cover band The Temps, noon to 4 p.m. The cover charge Saturday is $10.
Other live entertainment will include Celtic dancers and bagpipe music. The 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. timeframe is aimed at families.
An outdoor all-you-can-eat Irish buffet featuring corn beef and cabbage, cabbage rolls, Irish stew, bangers and mash, shepherd’s pie, green beans and mashed potatoes will be available.
There will also be drink specials throughout the day, giveaways from Jameson Whiskey and Olive Vodka and March Madness games will be televised.
Rockers Nine Volt will headline evening entertainment at 7:30.
