So how did Amazon determine these rankings, you ask?
>> Where to find Valentine's Day dining deals in Dayton
>> Gem City chorus to deliver 'singing valentines'
Amazon determined its criteria by a compilation of sales data from cities with more than 100,000 residents on a per capita basis and includes purchases of romance novels and relationship books (both Kindle and print); romantic comedy movies (DVDs and digital); a curated list of romantic music, including artists like Barry White, Maxwell, Miguel, and Luther Vandross (CDs and MP3 format); as well as the sales of sexual wellness products.
The research involved in determing the list also revealed three other interesting facts about Dayton:
- Diamonds are still a girl's best friend with jewelry being the second most popular way residents in Dayton, Ohio are expressing their romance.
- Customers like to read their favorite romance tales digitally, with Kindle eBooks being the most common way Dayton, Ohio is igniting its passion for love.
- Dayton, Ohio is losing that lovin' feeling, dropping from 7th to 19th on Amazon's annual list of Most Romantic Cities.
