Centerville art studio offers creative take-home kits for kids (and grown ups, too)

For all the Daytonians longing for a creative outlet while they're stuck at home, Raise Your Brush has you covered. The popular paint and sip studio in Centerville is getting creative in more ways than one during the coronavirus shutdown. It has transitioned from in-studio parties, to a variety of DIY "no contact" take-home kits for kids and adults.

Starting at just $8, the kits are an affordable boredom buster for parents looking for non-screen activities for their kids, couples hanging at home, or even a fun gift-giving idea. The best part is still being able to support this locally owned small business, which has become a staple in the heart of Centerville.

>> Why are millions finding a song about Dayton comforting right now?

“We decided to offer take-home kits in response to our regular guests requesting something to do while staying home, especially with kids” Raise Your Brush owner Laura Carter explained. Being a parent and a former middle school art teacher gave Carter the experience and inspiration to come up with these DIY kits.

“Being an art teacher by trade, I wanted to come up with things that families could do without going to a class. We put a no-contact pickup procedure in place, and created step-by-step instructional videos to watch from home. Best of all, we still offer bottles of wine to-go so parents can "sip" while kids paint!”
