Dragons select high school a cappella group to get 2017 season going

When the smoke cleared, the judges of the Dayton Daily News and Dayton Dragons National Anthem Contest agreed  Catalyst was the perfect group to help start the Dayton Dragons' season.

Catalyst, an A cappella group from Northmont High School,  is made up of 14 students from various grade levels--including eight seniors.

“When the kids found out that they had won, they were shocked. They were hoping to sing at a game this season, but had no idea that Opening Day would be a possibility,” said Anna King, one of the group’s directors. “They are extremely passionate about what they do and the product they want the community to see. It’s really fun to work with a group of students who aren’t afraid to try new things or different musical genres.”
