Panera adds breakfast delivery in some other markets

ST. LOUIS — Panera, which operates in St. Louis as St. Louis Bread Co., has expanded its delivery options in St. Louis to breakfast.

The Sunset Hills-based restaurant chain said Thursday that it’s testing the breakfast delivery service in 231 cities, including St. Louis, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville, St. Louis and Minneapolis.

Delivery service is available within an eight-minute drive of a Panera restaurant, and delivery orders have a $5 minimum and $3 delivery service fee.

Panera added home delivery for lunch and dinner in the St. Louis area in early 2017.

Panera said its delivery service stands out for using its own drivers, rather than relying on a third party.

“Since we launched Panera delivery, guests have been asking ‘what about breakfast?’ We’re all looking for an easier way to get a better breakfast as we start our day,” Blaine Hurst, Panera’s CEO, said in a statement.
