A Humane Society Facebook post says Demmy “is always happy and smiling and will smile his way straight into your heart.”

The elderly woman who found Demmy tried to take care of him, but could not handle him due to an illness.
The woman’s daughter took Demmy for awhile, but didn’t not have time to devote to him.
She turned him over to the Humane Society of Preble County, a no-kill shelter, on Oct. 29.

Renner said it is not clear how Demmy was displaced from his original family during the tornadoes.
He is in need of a good home now, she said.
Demmy the dog was found after the Memorial Day tornadoes. The 2-year-old dog, a lab mix, was found wandering in Brookville after the Memorial Day tornadoes, Leslie Renner, the executive director of the Humane Society of Preble County,. said.
“He does well with anybody. He really does,” Renner said. “Somebody who is definitely active would be wonderful.”
Demmy has been neutered, microchipped and is current on his shots.
His adoption fee is $190.
