3 things to love about Huber Heights

Happy birthday, Huber Heights! The city is celebrating its 36th birthday (it was incorporated 36 years ago today).

Today is the City of Huber Heights' 36th Birthday! In such a short time there have been many accomplishments for this...

Here are some of our favorite things about the city, named for developer Charles H. Huber, who built much of the city core (see item no. 1 below).

1.) There are a LOT of brick houses. The city was known as "America's Largest community Of Brick Homes" for years. Charles Huber's Huber Homes company built more than 10,700 single-family homes and 2,250 multi-family units between 1956 and 1992.

2.) Their music center is AMAZING. If you haven't been to the Rose Music Center at the Heights, make it a must-do this summer. Last year, they brought all kinds of national acts to the venue, including Goo Goo Dolls, 98 Degrees, ZZ Top, Blues Traveler, The Wallflowers, and Old Crow Medicine Show, to name a few. This year's full lineup has yet to be announced, but Sammy Hagar and The Circle are scheduled to play June 5.

3.) The food. This list would simply not be complete without dining hotspots. According to the Huber Heights Chamber of Commerce website, "Over 60 restaurants located throughout the community offer American, Italian, Chinese, Thai and Mexican cuisine." Some top places to visit: TJ Chumps, Old Glory Cafe, Deroma Italian Restaurant, and iYara Thai Restaurant.
