Board game-themed café expects fall opening in Miamisburg

A board game-themed café planned near the Dayton Mall is expected to open later this year.

Cardboard Crowns’ Facebook page indicates the location at 147 N. Springboro Pike within the Corners at the Mall retail center in Miamisburg will open this fall, according to its Facebook page.

The site has applied for a full liquor license, which the city of Miamisburg will not challenge, records show.

Founder Ben T. Adams of Dayton said Cardboard Crowns will be Dayton’s first full-service board game café.

Board game-themed cafés have been growing in popularity in recent years, with several locations in Ohio. Locally, Kettering gamer bar “D20: A Bar with Characters” opened in December at 2144 E. Whipp Road in the Oak Creek Plaza.
