“We’ve been working on this concept for awhile because we wanted to make sure we could make the best sandwich possible,” Henry Dean, president of Boston Stoker, said in a release. “Through sourcing the ingredients and how we are able to prepare and serve them, I feel great about now offering these to our customers.”

Dean said all breakfast sandwiches are made to order and served on ciabatta bread with egg and either bacon, sausage or vegetables. The sandwiches can be topped with a special Cajun sauce or a house-made dill lemon cream cheese.

The Vandalia-based Boston Stoker celebrated its 45th anniversary this year.

Boston Stoker was founded in Englewood in 1973 by Don and Sally Dean as a pipe and tobacco shop. As a strategy to build their customer base in a new business, the Deans started offering free, freshly brewed specialty coffee to customers while they shopped, according to the company’s web site. The demand began to grow to buy the coffee to take it home, eventually leading Boston Stoker into the specialty coffee industry.
