A portion of the proceeds from the event will go to the victims, according to a press release.
“Many people in the Miami Valley are still trying to get back on their feet after the tornadoes,” Michelle Riley, CEO of the Foodbank said. “We are thankful that the Dayton community continues to come together in tough times to help their neighbors in need.”

The race is set to begin at noon Sept. 15 at the Island MetroPark, 101 E. Helena Street.
Participants can either walk or run the 5K or 10K race.

Admission for the race is free but canned goods or financial donations will be accepted.
Donations to support the race can be made on the Dayton Foodbank’s website or through online registration.
