The thief covered the parking lot of a Rally's in southwest Birmingham with old hamburger buns, reported. The buns were moldy and smashed, prompting one observer to note, "The birds will be happy now," the website reported.

The restaurant was one of 12 Rally's locations in the Birmingham area that closed in March. It was not clear whether the bread in the parking lot would be cleaned up or whether officials would just leave it to the birds.
