A measure is set to go before Miamisburg City Council on Tuesday night to allow the city manager to contract with the Montgomery County Transportation Improvement District to oversee the Byers Connector Road construction project.

The city approved the construction of the road from Byers east toward Interstate 75 as part of an $18 million public and private investment to lead to the future continental headquarters of United Grinding North America.

United Grinding plans to move from its Earl Boulevard facility to a multi-million dollar site it is building off I-75 in the Austin Center area. Miamisburg is financing construction of the road, which local officials they say will allow easier access to further construction off Byers.
